"Time Will Pass You By" is a song by Kylie Minogue from her fifth studio album Kylie Minogue (1994).
Background and release[]
"Time Will Pass You By" was written by Dino Fekaris, Nick Zesses and John Rhys, whilst production was handled by DeConstruction label mate M People; they were originally meant to have more involvement in the album, but could not commit to it due to a busy schedule. The song was originally recorded and released by Tobi Lark, under the name Tobi Legend, in 1968. At the time, it was likened to a Shakespeare sonnet; The Guardian columnist Laura Barton said: "It is simply a song about seeing the preciousness of life, about trying to live our lives better and brighter"
"Time Will pass You By" is a "sophisticated, grinning piano-house song" that "encapsulates Kylie's trademark joie de vivre message: not taking life for granted and enjoying it to its fullest". The song was considered for release as the fourth and final single from Kylie Minogue, but scrapped when it was evident that the album campaign was long dead and buried cancelling all future plans for the album; a Paul Masterson remix commissioned for release with the single, that ended up being released as part of the special edition of Kylie Minogue.
